The Outer Banks Community Foundation congratulates Katie Morris who is the 2009 recipient of the $5,000 renewable Milton A. Jewell Scholarship Fund award.  Morris is a graduate of First Flight High School and plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  The Milton A. Jewell Scholarship Fund was established by the Foundation with a bequest from former Southern Shores resident Ruth Medgyes who wanted to honor her grandfather and help outstanding students attend college.
